Bra-Roll Liposuction

Many women who struggle with overly large breasts also have excess fat around their back and bra area. It’s also an area that’s very difficult to address with diet and exercise alone. That’s why bra roll liposuction is one of the most common procedures combined with breast reduction surgery. It works by removing stubborn fat and loose skin from the back and sides to improve the shape and contour of your body. 

Who is a Good Candidate for Bra-Roll Liposuction? 

While most patients are good candidates for this surgical procedure, there are some criteria we look for to determine whether you’re an ideal candidate for this procedure. We look for patients: 

• In generally good health 
• Who have realistic expectations 
• Are nonsmokers 
• Who have excess fat and skin around your back and sides in the area where your bra lays that you want to get rid of 

Procedure 

Bra roll liposuction is an outpatient procedure. To start the bra roll liposuction procedure, whether by itself or with a breast reduction, we’ll administer anesthesia. Once that kicks in, your provider will make an incision around the bra band area and then use a thin tube (called a cannula) to loosen up the bra roll fat. They will then use a vacuum to suction out and remove excess fat.  

After all the excess fat has been removed, they will close your incision, and you can start your recovery journey. 

Recovery 

As you recover, you’ll likely notice some swelling, bruising, and discomfort. Your provider will prescribe pain medication and give you a compression garment to help ease swelling. They will also discuss aftercare instructions so you know exactly how to care for your incisions and what activities to avoid as you heal. 

Light arm movement is encouraged a few days after surgery, but strenuous upper body activity should be limited for several weeks.
