Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Dr. Andrews developed a passion for medicine. Motivated by his deep desire to become a surgeon, Dr. Andrews excelled at Fairfax High School and earned admission into the world-renowned University of California at Berkeley where he studied Molecular and Cell Biology.
Dr. Andrews decided to continue his studies in California and attended a top-five medical school – the University of California, San Francisco. He was inducted into the Alpha Omega Honor Society, a designation reserved for students graduating in the top ten percent of the class.

Dr. Andrews left California in pursuit of his dream to become a surgeon. He matched at the Johns Hopkins Hospital General Surgery Residency Program. It was through his association with Hopkins that he received a Resident Research Fellowship at the Department of Surgical Oncology at the Jonsson Cancer Center at the University of California, Los Angeles where he studied genetic immunotherapy. Dr. Andrews has presented at national and regional Society meetings and is published in numerous peer-reviewed medical and surgical journals.
Dr. Andrews finished his General Surgery Residency at Phoenix Integrated Surgical and earned his MBA from The Anderson School at UCLA. Motivated by his desire to marry form and function, art and science, Dr. Andrews completed a Fellowship in Plastic Surgery at the Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, Oregon.
Dr. Andrews and his wife, also a Los Angeles native, relocated to the Midwest in 2009 and are happily raising their children in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Dr. Andrews is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
All my life I wanted to be a surgeon. Coming from an artistic family, I was drawn to plastic surgery. I understand how important it is to look and feel your best at any age, and no matter what condition you have. Through my practice I am able to help reconstructive patients realize their goal of restoring function and assist cosmetic patients in reviving and enhancing form.
